Children’s art exhibit

The children from Proctor Preschool and children from the Five Alive program will be displaying student art work at the Andover Public Library based on books that were read to them this fall. The exhibit will begin Saturday, October 23, from 10 AM til Noon. Please come join us to enjoy the childrens art work ,friendly company and refreshments. The art work will be on display at theLibrary until November 6, and can be viewed during regular Library hours.Thank You to all those who helped to make this exhibit possible.

Free passes to the Fells

We have Free Passes to The Fells!

With your Andover Libraries Card, you can borrow our passes that admit two adults and all accompanying children under age 18 to the Fells’ Main House, gardens, grounds, and hiking trails! The Fells holds educational events and show gallery exhibits, too.

Andover Photo Exhibit

There will be an Exhibit of Local Photographers works at the Andover Libraries beginning with an opening celebration at the Andover Public Library on Friday, July 16. The Exhibit will include pictures of Andover and its surroundings . The exhibit will be open to the public during our normal library hours. Exhibit will close at the Andover Public Library on August 29 and there will be an opening celebration at the Wm A Bachelder Library in East Andover on Friday September 3. The Exhibit willremain there until October 15. We hope you will all come and enjoy the wonderful photos of our beautiful Andover Area

2010 Summmer Reading Program

Andover Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is almost here!! Our Summer reading classes will begin July 7th and run through August 11th. All three children’s age groups will have classes that will be held on Wednesdays this summer. Suzanne Carmack will be leading grades K-2 from 10am-11am each Wednesday, then Gail Fitzpatrick will lead the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grader’s group from 11am until noon. Pam Brown will be leading the oldest group, grades 6-8, and will be meeting each Wednesday evening from 7-8pm. Meeting times will be filled with crafts, stories, book discussions and other fun activities. Sign-ups for the Summer Reading Program will begin at Andover Public Library on Wednesday, June 2nd.

We will kick off our Summer Reading Program this year with a very special program with storyteller and musician John Porcino. Our Summer Reading Program theme this year is: “Make a Splash! Read!”. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy John’s fun-filled show on Saturday, June 26th at 11am at the Andover Public Library. Hope to see you there!

This Years Theme will be “Make A Splash”. It’s never to early to start thinking about Summer and Summer Fun. We will be Making a Splash at the Andover Public Library with lots of Books on water and the many uses and the need for water in our lives.There will be Arts and crafts, Activities and Games. We hope you will consider taking the time to come to the Library to sign up for our summer reading program. Sign Up will begin June 1st. and our Program wii Start July5th.

CIVIL WAR DISPLAY

In the entry way of the Andover Public Library is a presentation

of the Battle of Gettysberg. It depicts the high points of Pickett’s

charge on the last day of the battle. The diarama wasgenerously

provided by Andover Resident Richard Brewster. Come by to see a

very interesting view of this Civil War Battle.

July 4th Book Sale

We wish to thank all of you who have already donated books for our annual 4th of July book sale. Anyone wishing to donate can bring them to the Andover Public Library until July 1st . Remember that we also have Seedless Watermelon and water for sale outsde the Stone Chapel on the Proctor Green. Come in side to see the wonderful assortment of great books for the whole family. Summer Reading Program 2009

We will Begin our Summer reading program Wednesday July 8th. This years theme is “Summertime and the reading is easy.” We place children in groups according to the grade they will be going into this coming fall. Please sign up your children as soon as possible so we have a count as to the size groups that the adult leaders can be expecting to work with. If we need additional adult help we may be asking Parents to stay and help. They’ll be lots of Fun things to do as well as encouraging our children to read though out the summer months. You can sign up your child at either library but all groups will meet at the Andover Public Library.

Bachelder Book Club
